Beyond the Clarinet Studio
and School Band

Students and Parents have many opportunities to participate and enjoy music in addition to clarinet lessons and the school band.

  • Youth Orchestras: Talented music students participate in local youth orchestra organizations. These ensembles provide challenges and growth for advanced players.

  • Honor Bands and Solo Competitions: All-State Honor Bands perform annually; solo competitions occur throughout the school year. Ask your teacher about these unique opportunities.

  • Certificate of Merit (CM) : Music Teachers' Association of California offers an annual CM evaluation. Students perform solo repertoire, technique elements and sight-reading; complete a theory exam, including an ear-training component; and receive a written assessment by an experienced evaluator. Ginger's students are eligible to participate.
